Thus, at the beginning of October there will be 20 states with endorsement for tourists from those US areas to enter the national territory.
It should be noted that the entry of tourists who make stops in unauthorized cities is allowed, as long as the passengers do not leave the airport from which they would leave for Costa Rica.
As per 1st of September 2020 borders will be open for passengers coming from the USA, and resident of the States of New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut.
They will have to prove through their driver’s license that they live in one of the six authorized states and follow the same requisites as here below.
Costa Rica is slowly opening his borders again to tourism. They do it the safest way possible be it for the local people or for the people visiting us. Therefore they have several requisites.
- Presenting a negative COVID-19 test done no longer than 48 hours before scheduled flight
- Complete an Online Health Pass (no need to complete point B form the Requirements)
- Having a Travel Insurance Policy that covers medical expenses associated with Covid-19 and expenses for quarantine. The most important is that from today August 6th there is no obligation to purchase that insurance in Costa Rica. You can enter the country with your insurance purchased in your country of origin as long as it covers you for every expense associated with Covid-19.
We wish you a very good and safe journey in Costa Rica.
